The Episcopal Church holds to the via mediathe
middle waychoosing to encompass rather than choose between
divergent viewpoints on matters of Christian doctrine and practice.
This means that Episcopalians traditionally agree to disagree on
many matters of faith, remaining united in their worship together
as the Body of Christ. While our theologies may vary, the rhythm
and familiarity of the liturgy and the sharing of
Holy
Communion (Eucharist) unite us as one. Even in a church as small
as St. Mary's, you'll find people with very different personal values,
beliefs, and lifestyles, united in our love for one another and
for the God who loves us. Our mission, then, is to share with others
our sense of God's love, which overpowers all human differences.
